A quick look at 6.5x52mm Italian, aka 6.5x52mm Carcano, the cartridge infamous for allegedly killing President Kennedy. The 6.5x52mm Italian was the official Italian military cartridge adopted in 1891 for the bolt-action Mannlicher-Carcano rifle. This rifle was a Mannlicher-inspired design in every respect except the bolt, which is a Mauser-type with double-locking lugs at the front. Blast from the Past – First Earth Battalion Manual This article hails from November of 2009 and references a topic which was still poignant at the time. I’ve been fascinated by Jim Channon since I first learned about him decades ago and occasionally I reference the document mentioned below. I hope you go down the rabbit hole that is the human potential movement and see some of the promise I do and some of the danger. By Massad Ayoob Posted in #Guns There’s a clarity of purpose when it comes to single-action pistols like the 1911. The single-action was the first type of semi-automatic pistol, and it still remains popular through to today. Sir Winston Churchill claimed such a gun, the Mauser C96, saved his life in the Battle of Omdurman in 1898. On our side of the Atlantic, the 1911 .45 was killing America’s enemies before World War I, and did so through that conflict, as well as World War II, Vietnam, and even into the 21st century’s War on Terror. The Texas…

Washington Crosses The Delaware On Christmas night in 1776, General George Washington led American patriots across the Delaware River to attack the Hessian mercenary garrison at Trenton, New Jersey; a force which was fighting for the British. You’ve likely seen Washington Crossing the Delaware by Emanuel Leutze, painted in 1851, aspirational to be sure, but modern artist Mort Kunstler created a much more likely depiction of events in his 2011 painting entitled, Washington’s Crossing. It was an audacious plan; take a force of 5400, including artillery, conduct a nighttime river crossing in a storm, and with the ultimate element of…
