When I strap into the Rome Stale Crewzer snowboard, I start to interpret the terrain in a different way. Under my feet, this design feels confidence-inspiring, poppy, and impact-absorbing. With it, the mountain has become my park: I look for side hits and playful features. While I’m not a dedicated Slopestyle master, the Stale Crewzer inspires me to explore the slopes with a jump-off-everything energy. Stale Sandbech is known as one of the best park and freestyle snowboarders in the sport’s history. And this design is his 10-year anniversary pro model board, so my on-snow experience makes sense. The model…

Les George has partnered up with KA-BAR for a new series of fixed blades, which they have dubbed the Cool Name line. The line syncs up perfectly with both George’s and KA-BAR’s dedication to hard use application fixed blades and offers three different blade shapes to choose from. George is a fixture in both the custom and production knife scenes, and has turned out work in just about every size and use class imaginable – but he’s probably most associated with hard use and tactical pieces, inspired in part from his own past as a U.S. Marine. The archetypal George…

Learn More Each year, thousands of people from around the world flock to Mount Everest for a chance to reach its distant summit. Now, Nepalese tourism officials are trying to encourage climbers to try one of the country’s many other peaks, instead. This change to the country’s tourism policy, first reported by The Kathmandu Post last week, comes at the same time as several…
By Maj. Doug Hanson, USMC (Ret) Posted in #History World War II is the most analyzed conflict in modern times. Despite all the excellent works available, pop culture has in some cases surpassed the historical records and have become established as fact in movies, TV and YouTube. The use of Duplex Drive (DD) tanks on D-Day is just one example of a pervasive myth of their supposed demise. This line of thinking ignores what actually happened that day. For example, in “Saving Private Ryan”, the character of Capt. Miller at Omaha Beach said that all the DD…
There are endurance athletes — and then there are the athletes who run a marathon every day for over 600 days. Marie “Lootie” Leautey, the fastest woman to run around the world, is in the latter category. Leautey, a business person turned globe-trotting adventurer, ran 17,500 miles across four continents from December 2019 to September 2022, becoming only the second woman and seventh person to cross the globe on foot. In addition to documenting her journey through her blog, Leautey, a 48-year-old from France, also reflected on the challenges and triumphs of the experience in her book, Lootie’s World Run…
July’s gun sales failed to reach the one million mark for the first time in six years, according to an estimate by the National Shooting Sports Foundation (NSSF). The organization estimates firearm purchases last month came in at 978,731, ending a seven-figure streak —based on NSSF’s calculations using the FBI’s National Instant Criminal Background Check System (NICS) volume—that began back in July of 2019. It didn’t come as a complete surprise, however. NSSF’s June’s estimate, 1,004,986, was barely above one million and reflected a decline of 5.1 percent when compared to the same period in 2024. That year total volume…
