Bark River Knives closed its doors earlier this month, and it was a move accompanied by some serious controversy, as it was discovered that several recent model runs were produced with a Chinese steel that BRK sold as 154CM/CPM-154. BRK’s closure was officially announced on March 23rd, but according to company founder Mike Stewart’s statement, the last day of business was Friday, March 20th. Düsseldorf-based Rheinmetall AG and the Spanish technology Group Indra have signed a memorandum of understanding to further deepen their strategic cooperation, particularly in the production of military vehicle systems for European and Latin American Armed Forces. The next step is to establish a joint venture later this year in order to bid on a Spanish Army contract for the procurement of up to 3,000 military trucks. Mark forwarded this on to me from Robert Wilson of the Moran Foundation and Museum. An Idaho Fish and Game commissioner is facing seven misdemeanor hunting-related charges tied to a December elk hunt in eastern Idaho. Brody Harshbarger represents Idaho’s Upper Snake Region on the Idaho Fish and Game Commission. He was charged on March 6 in Fremont County. Idaho Fish and Game still lists him as the Upper Snake commissioner, with a term set to expire on June 30, 2027.
