Finally, an affordable off-road sports car. It’s called the Kuhl Outroad GR86, and it’s the RWD alternative to a Porsche 911 Dakar or Lamborghini Sterrato with a few zeros cut from the price tag. This Time, GR Stands for Gravel-Ready At its heart, this is Toyota’s GR86 sports car lifted and made more rugged. It’s an answer to the Safari-style rough-road sports cars that have been growing in popularity. Only, instead of a European exotic, it’s built by a Japanese tuning shop that has plenty of experience putting body kits on slammed cars we’ve never seen before on this side…

Duck hunting is demanding work. Early mornings, gear maintenance, and a long to-do list to execute a perfect hunt are all part of the deal. Usually, you’re doing it in frigid, wet conditions. Sometimes it all comes together, and other times it’s a complete bust. Yes, it’s fun, but anyone saying it’s not work clearly hasn’t spent much time doing it. Due to the harsh conditions, waterfowl equipment has to be perfect. Photos by Iain Harrison In 2003, we bought a 40-inch plasma flat screen TV for $2,500. The only reason we got it so cheap was because we had to buy the speakers separately. We were so proud of our new purchase that we replaced the family pictures over the fireplace with this new technology, as it was amazingly thin at just 5 inches and weighed as much as my sister. Today, you can get a flat screen for the price of lunch. It’s one of the only things in life that have actually come down in price significantly. Economies of…

Coming from someone who has spent decades wearing waterproof gear, I was surprised to find the FORLOH AllClima Soft Shell Jacket incredibly waterproof and wind-resistant, yet still silent as I tramped all over Montana, field-testing it and trying to find this year’s muley. This jacket ran the gamut of weather with me — sun and sweat, rain, hail, snow — but it balanced breathability with keeping me dry, no matter what the conditions threw at it. FORLOH has done a great job building a functional hunting jacket for all types of terrain and weather conditions, while keeping affordability in mind.…

TNVC did not begin as a company chasing trends. It began as a response to a real operational problem. In the early days of the Global War on Terror, access to reliable night vision technology was extremely limited. Information was scarce, the market was fragmented, and transparency was rare. Questionable vendors and misinformation were common, while civilians had virtually no legitimate access at all. Even for military and law enforcement professionals, acquiring the right equipment often meant navigating delays, conflicting guidance, and costly trial and error. Lives depended on technology that had to work, yet understanding how to properly select,…

As I stood on the doorstep of the South Fork Lodge with the sun on the Eastern horizon, there was a slight bite to the air. Fall was just around the corner, and early mornings were no longer warm and toasty. I threw on the Free Fly Gridback Fleece Anorak Hoodie and sipped coffee while patiently waiting for the guide to pull up. I was in for one of the last good dry fly fishing days of the summer. The hoodie kept me warm that morning, and by midday, temperatures climbed into the upper 70s; it packed down nicely in…
