One of We Knife Co.’s incoming models looks to be an homage to the premium knife juggernaut’s earlier days. The Dracarys brings a scaly style and a large-ish size to bear on EDC chores. We Knife Co. is obviously a headline act these days, but, like any young knife company, it had to prove itself to earn its market share. And props to the team, they knew how to make an impression, with big folders, made with premium materials, bristling with high-falutin machining flourishes. And back in those days one of those eye-catching pieces was the Drakon, a huge frame…

Bark River Knives, one of the most prominent and prolific companies making high-end production fixed blades, closed on March 20, 2026, amid scandal. Bark River’s end, the scandal that brought them down, and what actually caused the problems offer a unique insight into the pressure small American knife manufacturers face. Its demise is only the latest in a series of closures impacting the knife business in recent years. Mike Stewart, owner and founder of Bark River Knives, announced via his company’s Facebook page that Bark River was closed permanently as of March 20, 2026. The post was long. It detailed what happened,…
Built for Practical Performance The Legionary 22 is the newest rimfire suppressor from Warrior Systems Manufacturing. Designed specifically for .22 LR platforms, it focuses on what most shooters actually care about: low weight, effective sound reduction, simple maintenance, and long-term durability. Designed for .22 LR Platforms The Legionary 22 is purpose-built for rimfire rifles and pistols. Instead of adapting a larger suppressor design, this model was engineered specifically around the performance and size requirements of .22 LR firearms. The result is a suppressor that stays compact, performs consistently, and doesn’t add unnecessary weight to lightweight rimfire setups. Lightweight and Compact…
Waders are essential gear for anglers. But dang, they’re tough to get right. They need to be the epitome of waterproof, all while standing up to constant streamside abuse. The best fishing waders will keep you dry and function so well that you forget about them. The wrong set will leave you cold, wet, and miserable. In the latest 10-month test round, lead contributor Morgan Nowels tested two sets of waders across Tennessee, Montana, Idaho, and British Columbia over 40 days. Our best overall pick, the Skwala RS, still reigns supreme, while the Orvis Clearwater is the best option for…
In a 50/49 vote Thursday morning, the Senate chose to overturn a 20-year mining ban on Superior National Forest outside of the Boundary Waters Canoe Area Wilderness. Conservationists called it a major blow to public lands. Despite passionate arguments from Democrats against H.J. Res. 140, which passed the House earlier this year, Senate Republicans banded together to approve the resolution. Just two Republican Senators joined Democrats to oppose the measure: Thom Tillis (R-N.C.) and Susan Collins (R-Maine). Senator Josh Hawley (R-Mo.) was the only Senator who didn’t vote. It was introduced in January by Rep. Pete Stauber, a House representative…

If you are a maker who would like to be featured yourself, please visit this link for more information. I won’t waste any more of your time. Here is Michael Ruth Jr. to tell you about…

Have you ever changed your packing plans for an adventure because bringing a cooler feels like an overcommitment? I’m talking about those days that aren’t a full-blown campsite setup or a multi-hour tailgate — just a few hours by the water, moving spots while following the hatch, and generally figuring things out as you go. In those situations, I usually find myself at a crossroads: I either skip the cooler entirely and deal with lukewarm water, or I bring one and end up regretting it halfway through the day because it’s a clunky, swinging burden. The BrüMate MagPack 24-Can Cooler…
