While the Firearms Policy Coalition’s (FPC’s) recently released State Freedom Index gave the state of Vermont an 81.2% grade, some lawmakers in the Green Mountain State are trying to push that ranking down significantly. The legislative session in Vermont is quickly winding down, but that’s not stopping anti-gun lawmakers from trying to pass several serious infringements on the Second Amendment rights of lawful gun owners in the state. According to a legislative alert from the National Rifle Association’s Institute for Legislative Action (NRA-ILA), anti-gun Democrats in Vermont are pushing two omnibus gun bills in an attempt to pass them before…

The U.S. Postal Service is attempting to skirt the recent ruling striking down the USPS’s nearly century-old ban on shipping firearms through the mail, and one major gun-rights group is calling attention to the matter.  In a national alert to members, Gun Owners of America (GOA) sounded the alarm on the USPS plot to circumvent the ruling and maintain the status quo on mailing guns. “We need your immediate action to stop the U.S. Postal Service from sidestepping our landmark court victory and chipping away at your Second Amendment rights,” GOA Senior Vice President Erich Pratt wrote in the alert.…

Upset with the Trump Administration over what sometimes seems like only lip service to the Second Amendment, 33 U.S. House members have sent President Donald Trump a letter urging him to live up to his promise of restoring the Second Amendment and outlining what the next attorney general should do to win back gun owners’ support. Led by Rep. Andrew Clyde, R-Georgia, the Republican lawmakers called on Trump to take three specific actions: immediately cease enforcement of Biden-era gun rules and secure permanent—not temporary—relief, stop defending unconstitutional gun laws in court and rein in the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms…

Images by the author Reloaders like to control all aspects of their craft – this I know from first-hand experience. From sourcing components like cases, bullets, powder, primers, etc., to getting things ready to go to “press”, the more control you have over things, the better. Nowhere is that more true than with case preparation. You cannot create top-quality reloads without having a good foundation for them to begin with. Cartridge cases comprise that foundation. Good quality cases are necessary to create uniform, consistent loads regardless of caliber or purpose. Whether you are blasting steel targets, running tactical courses, or…

A new bill introduced in the U.S. House of Representatives would give some military veterans and active-duty military members the ability to protect themselves from danger anywhere in the nation. On April 20, Rep. Pat Harrigan, R-North Carolina, a former Army Special Forces officer, introduced the Special Operations Forces Concealed Carry Act, which would grant eligible veterans and active-duty personnel nationwide concealed-carry privileges, effectively overriding state-level restrictions that can differ significantly from one jurisdiction to another. Supporters of the bill argue the measure would recognize military training and provide consistent legal protections for service members who travel or relocate. If…

This is a first-impression article, and this will be more of a background-type piece on the Strike Eagle.)  It seems that right now, it’s LPVO time in my neck of the woods. I just got out my Monstrum Ladon 1-6×24 LPVO from a previous review, and had mounted my Griffin Armament 1-8×24 on my Ruger Scout .308. (Look for a review of the Griffin Armament scope soon). Needless to say,…

Now that philandering U.S. Rep. Gary Swalwell, D-California, has been exposed as a molester and possible rapist, people and groups formerly in lockstep with the disgraced governor wannabe are abandoning him like rats abandoning a sinking ship. Five women have accused Swalwell, who a few years back had an affair with a Chinese spy, of sexual misconduct in recent days. A former staffer accused him of sexually assaulting her in 2019 and 2024, and another woman has alleged that Swalwell drugged and raped her in a hotel room in 2018.  Among the groups now trying to distance themselves from Swalwell…

Anti-gun politicians like to claim that when they pass restrictive gun laws, they are simply doing the will of the people they represent. However, a sharp increase in gun sales just before and after such laws are passed tells a distinctly different story. Larry Keane, senior vice president and general counsel for the National Shooting Sports Foundation (NSSF), the firearm industry trade association, made that point well in a recent report looking at gun sales in New Jersey and Virginia. “The clearest way to measure the will of ‘The People’ isn’t always at the polls every two or four years,”…

The gun-rights group Gun Owners of America (GOA) is blowing the whistle on the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) and the Department of Justice’s Civil Rights Division for revealing sensitive tax and firearm information of a GOA member.
