The daughters of slain civil rights leader Malcolm X are suing the FBI, CIA and New York Police Department, accusing all three agencies of having roles in the 1965 assassination of their father.The $100 million lawsuit, filed Friday in Manhattan federal court, claims the agencies were aware of and failed to stop the killing. Attorney Ben Crump, who represents the daughters and the Malcolm X estate, said the federal government and various agencies all conspired to kill the civil rights leader. Two male high school teachers were arrested for alleged sexual abuse, and the school’s principal and superintendent were put on administrative leave due to how the school handled the investigation, according to St. Helens School District press release. Eric Stearns and Mark Collins were both arrested on Tuesday, Nov. 12, for alleged sexual abuse. The school board put Principal Dr. Katy Wagner and Superintendent Scot Stockwell on administrative leave on Thursday, Nov. 14, and Friday, Nov. 15, respectively. A computer programmer who helped operate one of the largest illegal television streaming services in the United States was convicted by a Nevada jury, federal prosecutors said Friday. Yoany Vaillant, 43, a permanent U.S. resident, worked as a computer programmer for Jetflicks, an online, subscription-based service in Las Vegas that allowed users to stream and download copyrighted television episodes without the permission of its owners, the Justice Department said. A 65-year-old American tourist was arrested in Japan for allegedly defacing the entrance to a famous shrine in Tokyo, according to reports. On Wednesday, Nov. 13, Steven Lee Hayes was arrested on suspicion of property damage, the Tokyo Metropolitan Police Department confirmed to NBC News. Attorneys for Bryan Kohberger, the man accused in the brutal stabbing deaths of four University of Idaho students, are challenging an array of evidence in an effort to prevent prosecutors from presenting it at trial. A filing posted Friday totaled more than 160 pages and included the legal justification for blocking a variety of materials that Kohberger’s lawyers say were improperly obtained, the Idaho Statesman reported.
