A Southwest Airlines flight leaving Dallas returned to its gate after being struck by a bullet before takeoff. On Friday, Nov. 15, Flight 2494 was preparing to leave Dallas Love Field Airport when it was “struck by gunfire near the cockpit,” according to the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA). In a statement, the FAA detailed that the Boeing 737-800 was on its way to Indianapolis International Airport before the shooting. Military suicides ticked up once again last year, following a dark long-term trend where the Pentagon has struggled to make meaningful progress. Overall, there were 523 reported suicides in 2023, the most recent data available, up from 493 in 2022. The number of active-duty troops who died by suicide increased to 363 from 331 the previous year, up 12%. Suicide is by far the biggest killer of service members, killing more than training accidents, illnesses, homicides or combat, according to the Defense Department (DOD). Fieri tells PEOPLE exclusively that two trucks carrying their Santo Tequila bottles have gone missing after being hijacked in Laredo, Texas. The trucks were transporting 440 cases of tequila, or 24,240 bottles, including Santo blanco, reposado and a specially-made extra añejo, which took 39 months to create. An elk hunter in Eastern Idaho is lucky to have survived a confrontation with an adult grizzly bear after he was forced to use his hunting rifle to defend his life.
