Do You Still Need Hearing Protection with a Suppressor? Of course, you do. At least, you do in most cases, with very few exceptions. When you first clamp a suppressor on your rifle and touch off a round, the difference can feel pretty drastic, and it can be easy to fool yourself into thinking that you’re doing zero damage to your hearing once a suppressor goes on. The sharp crack drops to a manageable thump, and you wonder if ear pro is truly optional. The honest answer from my own experience (and mistakes) is that while a lot of suppressors…

Paul Ivnitskiy from Ammunition To Go makes a straightforward claim: most shooters think they have their rifle zeroed when they’ve really just copied popular advice. Generic 25-meter, 36-yard, or 100-yard zeros can work okay for general use, but they frequently fall short on modern setups once barrel length, velocity, and especially optic height enter the equation. Ammo To Go’s new Zero Tool should help you accomplish that much more easily now. In the video above and article (posted in full below), Ivnitskiy explains that a real zero should maximize Maximum Point Blank Range (MPBR) — the distance over which a…

Images by the author I recently took a mini-break to North Carolina to visit friends and was able to stop by Trailblazer Firearms (TF) in Fletcher. I wrote an introductory article on this innovative company… look for it here soon. I also reviewed their fold-up, single-shot .22 pistol, the breath-mint-box-sized LifeCard… again, look for that review here, as well. This third article on TF is a review of their other product, the Pivot. This is a truly unique folding 9mm pistol-caliber carbine (PCC). Folding Carbines… A Trend I am no stranger to PCCs, especially ones that fold. I’ve shot the…

When background checks for gun sales dipped below 1 million last July, anti-gun advocates sighed with relief. The nearly six-year-long streak had come to an end, and gun-banners were hopeful it would usher in a new era of lower gun sales. Judging by the latest March numbers, those hopes were false. The March National Shooting Sports Foundation-adjusted National Instant Criminal Background Check System (NICS) figure of 1,412,917 is a 1.9% increase from the 1,386,724 in March 2025. It is also a 13% increase over the February total. For comparison, the unadjusted March 2026 FBI NICS figure of 2,212,094 reflects a 10.5%…

The Second Amendment Foundation has filed an amicus brief urging the Supreme Court to grant cert in George Peterson v. United States, a case squarely targeting the National Firearms Act’s registration and special taxation requirements for suppressors. SAF is joined by the NRA, the American Suppressor Association, California Rifle & Pistol Association, Second Amendment Law Center, Minnesota Gun Owners Caucus, and the Citizens Committee for the Right to Keep and Bear Arms. SAF’s Director of Legal Research and Education, Kostas Moros, didn’t mince words: “Suppressors are clearly ‘arms’ protected by the plain text of the Second Amendment, and there is…

Steiner just dropped a shrunken version of its MPS pistol optic aimed squarely at compact and subcompact carry guns. The MPS-C rides the RMSc footprint — the same cut found on the Shield RMSc, Holosun EPS Carry, and other small-frame optics — making it a direct play for Shields, Hellcats, P365s, and similar platforms. The headline feature is the enclosed emitter design. Unlike the exposed-emitter dots that dominate the budget end of the market, the MPS-C’s LED sits protected behind a fully sealed housing with a recessed, shrouded window. That matters on a carry gun that lives in a holster,…

A Secret Service agent assigned to Jill Biden’s protective detail shot himself in the butt at Philadelphia International Airport last Friday morning, and the story behind the how is almost too embarrassing to type. According to RealClearPolitics reporter Susan Crabtree, the agent left his phone behind in an SUV while escorting Biden into the airport. He rushed back to retrieve it and, apparently lacking a flashlight, drew his Glock and used the weapon-mounted light to search for the phone. When he hastily re-holstered, he sent a 9mm round into his own backside. UPDATE: Additional new details about the junior @SecretService…

FALCO Holsters turned a few heads on April 1, 2026, with the official launch of its CarryArt series featuring the CX14 Pineapple and CX15 Strawberry leather OWB holsters. The company is quick to point out these are not April Fools’ jokes, but just FALCO Holsters expressing their inner artists to bring the gun industry something fresh. Even though they look like fruit, like all leather falco holsters, the new CarryArt series is made from full-grain Italian leather at 1/8” (7–8 oz) thickness. Both of the inaugural CarryArt models are custom-fit to over 3600 different handguns. They use a leather belt…
