There’s no question that the classic Bowie knife’s aggressive clip-point blade is an endlessly compelling silhouette.
One consequence the Bowie bros (fighter Jim and designer Rezin) could not have imagined is how many variations would exist nearly two centuries after the 1827 Sandbar Fight that made it famous.
Loads are frisky folders that, while well crafted, adopt the blade’s shape without its size. (I am not inclined to be too critical, as we have covered plenty of them.)
That’s what makes the new American-made Ka-Bar Becker BK25C Outpost’s half-foot of sharpened steel such a welcome sight.
So this is the first new knife released since the announcement that David C. Andersen would be taking the mantle when Ethan steps aside. This important fact, plus the fact that David was co-designer on this knife, are nowhere to be found within this piece. Major oversights.
