Regional organizations unite to strategize on Second Amendment defense

The Citizens Committee for the Right to Keep and Bear Arms (CCRKBA) is organizing the first-ever New England Firearms Advocacy Conference, scheduled for May 30, 2026, at Castle of Knights in Chicopee, Massachusetts.

The event brings together six regional Second Amendment organizations: Connecticut Citizens Defense League, Massachusetts Gun Owners’ Action League, Gun Owners of Maine, New Hampshire Firearms Coalition, Rhode Island 2nd Amendment Coalition, and Vermont Federation of Sportsmen’s Clubs.

Conference chair Holly Sullivan, who serves as CCRKBA Director, explained the strategic thinking behind the regional approach. “We wanted to create an environment where state and regional organizations could come together and discuss the issues that are unique to their areas,” Sullivan said. “Launching our inaugural regional conference in New England will bring together states with some of the best and worst gun laws to share strategies as well as highlight potential battles that may come to the more liberty-minded states.”

The single-day conference will feature Second Amendment attorneys, legislators, and content creators discussing legislation, litigation, lobbying tactics, and advocacy strategies. The format eliminates overnight lodging requirements for most attendees, though room blocks will be available. Registration includes coffee, pastries, lunch, and a full program of presentations.

CCRKBA Chairman Alan Gottlieb noted the symbolism of hosting the event in Massachusetts. “Bringing a conference like this into the middle of the battlefield is common sense,” Gottlieb said. “Massachusetts was at the heart of the American Revolution, and Bay Staters — along with many of the New England states — have to fight for their independence from tyranny yet again.”

Tickets are $25 and include a one-year CCRKBA membership.

More information is available at https://ccrkba.org/fac/

CCRKBA represents more than 650,000 members nationwide and focuses on preserving firearms freedoms through lobbying and grassroots activism.
