President Donald Trump shared new details of his conversation with Savannah Guthrie regarding her mother Nancy Guthrie’s disappearance in a Truth Social post on Wednesday, Feb. 4.

“I spoke with Savannah Guthrie, and let her know that I am directing ALL Federal Law Enforcement to be at the family’s, and Local Law Enforcement’s, complete disposal, IMMEDIATELY,” Trump, 79, wrote. “We are deploying all resources to get her mother home safely. The prayers of our Nation are with her and her family. GOD BLESS AND PROTECT NANCY!”

Moments before Trump published his message, Savannah, her sister Annie and her brother Camron appeared in a video on Savannah’s Instagram page, pleading with Nancy’s potential abductor to “bring her home.”

“We too have heard the reports about a ransom letter in the media,” Savannah said. “As a family, we are doing everything that we can. We are ready to talk. However, we live in a world where voices and images are easily manipulated. We need to know without a doubt that she is alive and that you have her. We want to hear from you and we are ready to listen. Please, reach out to us.”

NBC News anchor Tom Llamas revealed at the end of his interview with the president for an NBC News special that Trump spoke with the Today co-anchor, 54, over the phone earlier on Wednesday.

Trump offered “words of support for her and her family as they search for her mother,” Llamas reported.

According to NBC News, the president knew how close Savannah was with her mother and “assured the Guthrie family that every resource was available as needed.”

A White House official further confirmed to PEOPLE that “President Trump called and spoke with Savannah Guthrie today.”

“It’s a terrible thing,” he continued. “I always get along well with Savannah. Very unusual situation, but we’re going to find out.”

Trump has been critical of Savannah in the past. During a rally in 2020, he called her a “crazed lunatic” and accused her of “screaming questions” at him when moderating an NBC News town hall ahead of that year’s presidential election.

The White House also shared information about Nancy’s disappearance on its official Instagram page on Tuesday, Feb. 3.

On Monday, Feb. 2, the Pima County Sheriff Chris Nanos said that Nancy’s house was considered a “crime scene,” and urged the public to come forward with any information pertaining to the case.

“We don’t need another bad, tragic ending. We need some help,” Nanos said at the time.
