Sheriff's Deputies Executing Arrest Warrant at Texas Motel 'Accidentally' Make Shocking Discovery By Christina Coulter

Deputies serving an unrelated parole warrant stumbled upon a homicide scene at a Texas motel Wednesday afternoon, where a man was found shot to death inside a room.

Harris County Sheriff Ed Gonzalez wrote in a Facebook post that deputies were serving a parole warrant for a suspect from Louisiana at the Deluxe Inn & Suites on East Freeway in Channelview, and that the suspect was quickly located and detained.

Gonzalez said deputies then discovered a man’s body inside a motel room.

The victim was identified as 33-year-old Jorge Gonzalez, according to ABC13 and Click2Houston. He was found inside the bathroom suffering from multiple gunshot wounds.

Investigators believe Gonzalez may have been involved in a fight with at least three people Tuesday night while he was inside the room, according to the outlets.

Officials said there is currently no indication the detained suspect is connected to Gonzalez’s death.

The investigation remains ongoing.
