A Single-Source Solution for OEM Pistol Barrels

Vortakt Expands Manufacturing Capabilities

Menomonee Falls, WI (January 15, 2026) – Vortakt Barrel Works announced an advancement in its manufacturing capabilities with the installation of a new Okuma 5-axis machine that enables the company to produce fully finished pistol barrels for OEM firearm manufacturers.

Building on its established production of pistol barrel blanks and semi-finished “lollipops”, Vortakt can now provide OEMs with a streamlined, single-source solution for finished barrels. The investment reflects Vortakt’s ongoing commitment to manufacturing technology, operational excellence, and its “OEM Promise”.

“One of our goals has always been to expand our offerings in ways that align with our OEM customers’ requirements and finishing preferences,” said Chad Weister, Managing Director. “By adding 5-axis machining, we can now deliver fully finished pistol barrels that meet our customers’ precise design requirements while also supporting the operational efficiency they depend on.”

Key Advantages of the New Capability

• Fully finished pistol barrels are now available to OEM firearm manufacturers

• Precision 5-axis machining for finishing operations to customers’ exact specifications and drawings

• Seamless progression from barrel blanks, semi-finished “lollipops”, and finished barrels

• Reduced lead times by consolidating barrel finishing that would otherwise require outsourcing or internal secondary operations

The addition of this Okuma 5-axis machine further positions Vortakt as a high-capacity, forward-looking partner for both established and emerging OEM firearm manufacturers.

“This investment elevates the depth of our machining and finishing capabilities,” added Weister. “OEMs can now rely on Vortakt for more of their barrel needs, supported by the same consistency, accuracy, and service they have come to expect. Investments like this ensure we stay the first choice for OEM firearm manufacturers.”
