NEED TO KNOW

  • Kate Whiteman, the first woman to publicly accuse Oren and Alon Alexander of sexual assault, died in Australia late last year, per The New York Times and the BBC
  • Whiteman’s death is not considered suspicious by authorities
  • Oren, Alon and their brother, Tal Alexander, are set to go on trial later this month on sex trafficking charges

A woman who accused two of the Alexander brothers of sexual assault was found dead in her native Australia late last year.

Kate Whiteman, who was the first woman to accuse Oren and Alon Alexander of sexual assault, died in late 2025, The New York Times and the BBC reported, citing the New South Wales coroner.

Oren, Alon and their brother, Tal Alexander, have since been charged with several counts of sex trafficking in the Southern District of New York, PEOPLE previously reported. The brothers have also been sued by more than a dozen women, whose lawsuits followed Whiteman’s in 2024.

Whiteman filed her suit against Oren and Alon in 2024, accusing them of sexually assaulting her in the Hamptons in 2012, the Times reported.

According to the Times and the BBC, Whiteman’s death is not considered suspicious by the coroner’s office.

The BBC said that a spokesperson for the Alexander brothers said they were unaware of Whiteman’s death.

Alon and Tal are Florida real estate moguls, with their businesses encompassing Florida and New York State, according to a federal indictment. Oren is an executive at his family’s private security firm. They were arrested in December 2024.

Set to go on trial in Manhattan in January, prosecutors accuse the brothers of using “their wealth and prominent positions in real estate to create and facilitate opportunities to sexually assault women,” per the indictment.

The brothers have denied the allegations in both the federal indictment and the lawsuits.

Oren, Alon and Tal have been held at the Metropolitan Detention Center in Brooklyn, which is currently where Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro and Luigi Mangione are being held.
