NEED TO KNOW

  • Jacquan Wilson was arrested in September in connection with the alleged abuse and sex-trafficking of his girlfriend
  • The woman accused him of beating her and forcing her to have sex with male clients
  • Wilson allegedly threatened to “chop off” the woman’s fingers on one occasion, per investigators

A Missouri man is under arrest on several charges including sex trafficking after his girlfriend escaped his alleged brutal abuse.

Jacquan Wilson, 37, was arrested in late September one day after his alleged victim, a Kansas City, Mo., woman, escaped to Kansas City Airport, according to a probable cause affidavit obtained by PEOPLE.

The woman, whose age is not listed in court documents, told authorities she had met Wilson on Facebook a few months prior and the two were in a romantic relationship.

She alleged Wilson, who is an escort and is involved in an escort business, recruited her to have sex with clients multiple times each day, per the affidavit. Between Sept. 23 and Sept. 26, the day of her escape, the woman alleges Wilson brutally beat her, punched her, smacked her in the face, kicked her in the ribs and said things that caused her “emotional pain.”

On Sep. 23, Wilson was mad that the woman did not hug him upon her return to the hotel where they were staying, and allegedly threatened her: “You need to put your son to bed so he doesn’t witness what I’m going to do to you,” the affidavit alleges.

On one occasion, when she was running 12 minutes behind to meet a client, Wilson allegedly called her on FaceTime and threatened to “chop off [her] fingers,” she told investigators. He then held a knife and threatened to harm her 1-year-old son, she alleged, per the affidavit.

On Sep. 26, the woman was able to escape after she used ChatGPT to create a fake email claiming she had to return her rental and get a new one.

She then packed up her belongings and escaped to a Hertz rental facility at Kansas City Airport, where she met officers and her family members.

When speaking with her, investigators noted several bruises that were consistent with the type of abuse she alleged.
