What does it take to overturn a country? First, take away guns from citizens, especially those who might have a favorable view of the country’s current leadership. Next, turn the country’s military against its leadership. Accomplish those two things, and the stage is set. Of course, that’s greatly simplified, but you get the picture.
Which brings us to U.S. Sen. Mark Kelly, D-Arizona, and explains why he has worked so hard over the past several decades to try to ban civilian gun ownership—especially of so-called “military-grade” firearms.
Sen. Kelly and five associates have been in the news recently for an advertisement suggesting that military members disobey their orders.
“This administration is pitting our uniformed military and intelligence community professionals against American citizens,” Sen. Kelly and his cronies say in the video. “Like us, you all swore an oath to protect and defend this Constitution. Right now, the threats to our Constitution aren’t just coming from abroad, but from right here at home. Our laws are clear. Refuse illegal orders.”
Aside from putting rank-and-file service members in a delicate situation with their suggestion, many saw the advertisement as a call for insurrection. President Donald Trump even called the video “seditious behavior.”
After the video was distributed, the Pentagon launched an investigation into Sen. Kelly, prompting a tirade on the left from those who praised the video and its message. Since then, Sen. Kelly said he has had death threats. And at a December 3 press conference, Sen. Kelly even said President Trump is “threatening to kill me.”
The others participating in the video, all with former military or intelligence experience, included Sen. Elissa Slotkin, D-Michigan; Rep. Jason Crow, D-Colorado; Rep. Chrissy Houlahan, D-Pennsylvania; Rep. Chris Deluzio, D-Pennsylvania; and Rep. Maggie Goodlander, D-New Hampshire.
One very interesting thing about the video that few in the media have mentioned is that Sen. Kelly and the other five politicians in the video are all gun-ban advocates who have worked toward the passage of new gun control laws for nearly their entire careers. And that, along with the arguably seditious video, makes it clear that their motives aren’t good for the country and its freedom.
According to a report at ammoland.com, each of the video participants has embraced so-called “universal” background checks, red-flag laws that allow confiscation without due process, bans on so-called “assault” weapons and “high-capacity” magazines and federal safe storage mandates—literally the gun-banners’ wish list. In fact, Sen. Kelly even co-authored and advanced the Bipartisan Safer Communities Act (BSCA), the Biden Administration’s crown jewel of gun control, which the Trump Administration is currently working to overturn.
Fortunately for American gun owners—and all Americans—Kelly and his cronies have done a damn poor job disarming citizens, despite their herculean efforts to do so. It’s likely their video will have equally poor results in getting service members to betray their oath and disobey orders from their commander-in-chief.
