NEED TO KNOW

  • Sean “Diddy” Combs will spend Thanksgiving and Christmas at FCI Fort Dix with standard holiday prison meals
  • The 56-year-old is serving a 50-month sentence, but could earn an earlier release and is pursuing an appeal
  • His expedited appeal is set for oral arguments in April 2026 after his transfer to Fort Dix in October

Sean “Diddy” Combs, father of seven children, will be spending his holiday season behind bars, missing out on the lavish festivities he’s known for hosting during the celebratory season.

Combs, 56, now inmate #37452-054, is currently serving time at the Federal Correctional Institution Fort Dix in New Jersey, where he will be spending his Thanksgiving and Christmas holidays. While families nationwide sit around dinner tables and televisions to enjoy tasty dishes, Combs will have a morning of bran flakes and a dinner plate of sliced deli meat.

Breakfast, served around 6:30 a.m., will also include bananas, bran flakes and whole wheat bread, along with two jelly packets and a margarine spread. For beverages, the dishes will also be served with skim milk.

The lunch meal, served roughly from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m., will resemble closer to a Thanksgiving meal, which will include the choice between roasted turkey or soy chicken and vegetables with a side of cornbread and dressing. Additional sides will include baked sweet potato, mashed potatoes, corn, chicken gravy and whole wheat bread. Margarine spreads will also be provided, along with the choice of fruit or a holiday dessert, with a beverage.

The dinner plate of the night, offered around 4:30 p.m., will give inmates the option of a deli meat and sliced cheese sandwich or a peanut butter and jelly sandwich, with a side of options being potato chips, fruit, dessert or whole wheat bread and jelly.

For Christmas day, the meals don’t change too much, excluding for lunch, which will offer the option of baked hornish hen instead of the soy chicken with vegetables. All sides and the optional dessert or fruit will remain the same.

Combs was sentenced and transferred to FCI Fort Dix on Oct. 30, and is projected to be released on May 8, 2028, roughly 30 months from now. The celebrity inmate was recommended to partake in the available Residential Drug Abuse Program (RDAP) at the facilities by U.S. District Judge Arun Subramanian.

Combs received a 50-month federal prison sentence after a New York jury found him guilty on two counts related to transporting individuals for prostitution. The verdict came after a closely watched trial in the Southern District of New York, where he was cleared of the most severe accusations — including sex trafficking and racketeering — charges that carried potential life sentences.

According to his projected release date, Combs — who had spent about a year in custody before his October sentencing — may be eligible to leave prison slightly ahead of schedule with credit for good behavior, though the timeline could shift. His legal team moved quickly in response to the verdict, filing a two-page notice on Monday, Oct. 20, signaling their intent to appeal.

On Nov. 3, his expedited appeal was granted by U.S. Circuit Court Judge Beth Robinson. Oral arguments will be heard in April 2026.
