The man who rushed at Ariana Grande and grabbed her during Wicked: For Good‘s premiere in Singapore has been sentenced to nine days in jail.

Johnson Wen, a 26-year-old Australian native, pleaded guilty to one charge of being a public nuisance and was sentenced to nine days in jail, The New York Times reported on Monday, Nov. 17.

Wen’s sentencing comes four days after he charged at Grande, 32, while she walked at the Singapore premiere of the new Wicked movie on Thursday, Nov. 13.

As seen in video footage from the incident — including footage Wen posted himself to Instagram — the Australian man, wearing a white shirt and shorts, sprinted at Grande and put his arm around the actress, pulling her close to him as she attempted to get away.

Grande’s costar Cynthia Erivo and security at the premiere quickly stepped in to separate Wen from Grande, who appeared visibly shaken up in the immediate aftermath.

As the Times reported, a judge in Singapore called Wen “attention-seeking” on Nov. 17 and said the man wrongly assumed his actions would have no consequences. Though Wen told the judge he would not “do it again,” prosecutors in the case cited what they described as Wen’s “glaring lack of remorse.”

Wen goes by the name “Pyjama Man” online, and he shared his own footage of the incident on Instagram and has gone onstage at concerts and other events with celebrities on several occasions in the past, including at Katy Perry and The Weeknd concerts this summer.

Wen previously shared on his Instagram Stories on Nov. 14 that he was “free after being arrested” following the incident at the premiere.

Grande herself has yet to publicly comment on the incident. On Friday, Nov. 14, Grande shared several images from the movie’s press tour stop in Singapore and simply wrote “thank you, Singapore. we love you,” in a caption to her Instagram post.

Grande’s Wicked costar Marissa Bode took to TikTok to call out Wen’s actions on Nov. 13 and described the man as “a loser.”

“This is what I mean when I say social media brings out the worst in people,” Bode said. “Oh, did you get your views? Did you get your likes? Guess what you also did? You made somebody feel incredibly unsafe, but just — no remorse. That goes over your head. You’re a bad person.”
