  • A Pennsylvania man, 26, is accused of luring a girl from Louisiana to his home after meeting her on Snapchat, authorities allege
  • When she got to the house, he allegedly gave her edibles and alcohol
  • He allegedly sexually assaulted her every day for a week while she was in the home, authorities say

A missing girl from Louisiana was found in a box in the basement of a home in Pennsylvania, where she had been lured and sexually assaulted, authorities allege.

Ki-Shawn Crumity, 26, of Pittsburgh, was arrested on Thursday, Oct. 30 and charged with trafficking in individuals, statutory sexual assault of a minor, involuntary deviate sexual intercourse, unlawful contact with a minor – sexual offenses, sexual assault, corruption of minors, indecent assault and selling or furnishing liquor or malt or brewed beverage, according to online court records.

On Thursday, Oct. 30, the Pittsburgh Police Special Victims Unit received a report from the U.S. Marshals Service about a juvenile who went missing from Louisiana, according to a criminal complaint obtained by PEOPLE.

Marshals began investigating and determined that the teen was located at a home on Davis Ave. in Pittsburgh.

The FBI obtained a search warrant for the home, which was raided by a police SWAT team.

The girl was found in the basement of the home “in a box with a gray-colored sheet over (it), covering the box and her person,” the complaint says.

She told authorities that she met Crumity on Snapchat. He told her he “was to get her adopted by a trusted adult,” the complaint alleges.

The child made it to a Greyhound Bus station in Washington, D.C., where she met a woman who asked if she needed help.

She said yes and called Crumity, telling him she was going to bring a friend with her to Pittsburgh.

That night, the girl, the woman and Crumity slept in the same bed in the basement.

The girl said that Crumity gave her edibles and alcohol during the week she was there, the complaint alleges.

She said Crumity sexually assaulted her at least once or twice a day during the week she was at the house, according to the complaint.

She said he told her “he would get in trouble” and that he knew she was a runaway, it alleges.

Crumity allegedly admitted to having sex with the victim.

The girl told authorities that being at the hospital was “the safest she ever felt,” according to the complaint.

It is unclear whether the woman was charged and whether Crumity has retained an attorney who can speak on his behalf.

Crumity remains held without bond.
