A driver has been charged in the alleged wrong-way accident that left four teenagers dead on the New Jersey Turnpike on Sunday, Oct. 19.
Christopher Neff of Westminster, Colo., was charged with vehicular homicide, aggravated manslaughter, weapon possession and more after he allegedly drove the wrong way on the New Jersey Turnpike, leading to Sunday’s deadly crash, NBC 10 Philadelphia reported.
PEOPLE has reached out to the New Jersey State Police for comment.

Officials also alleged that Neff, 41, was driving under the influence of alcohol, and that he had a “strong odor of an alcoholic beverage emanating” from his breath following the crash, per NBC 10, citing court documents.
Police further alleged that Neff had hollow-point ammunition when the accident occurred.
Neff’s blood alcohol content was allegedly more than twice the legal limit following the crash. He is currently receiving treatment in a local hospital for fractures to both legs, a broken arm, and more injuries sustained in the accident, according to the outlet.

The accident occurred when a Dodge pickup truck was traveling the wrong way in the southbound lanes of the New Jersey Turnpike when the vehicle hit a Mazda SUV near milepost 1.3 in Carneys Point Township on Sunday, Oct. 19, at around 12:40 a.m. local time, according to a statement shared by New Jersey State Police.
After the crash, the SUV was reportedly struck by a tractor-trailer that was traveling in the right lane behind the vehicle. The driver of the tractor-trailer, a 29-year-old man from Nova Scotia, Canada, was uninjured, according to NJ.com.

The 19-year-old driver of the SUV, Yaakov Kilberg, and the three 18-year-old passengers — Aharon Lebovits, Shlomo Cohen and Chaim Grossman — all died, the outlets reported. Grossman was from Fallsburg, N.Y., while the other three young men were residents of Lakewood, N.J.
Loved ones told NBC affiliate WCAU that the teens were all close friends and had recently graduated. They had just begun a road trip when the tragic accident occurred.
“It’s a horrific tragedy,” Lebovits’ brother, Shloimy Lebovits, told the outlet.
