Virginia Giuffre said she believed she might “die a sex slave” as she opened up about her alleged sexual encounters with Jeffrey Epstein and his circle in her forthcoming posthumous memoir.
In an excerpt published by the BBC from her forthcoming memoir Nobody’s Girl: A Memoir of Surviving Abuse and Fighting for Justice, Giuffre — who died by suicide on April 25 of this year at age 41 — spoke in detail about having sex with Epstein and his alleged sex trafficking.
Giuffre wrote that the girls were required to look “childlike,” alleging that her childhood eating disorder was “only encouraged” under Epstein’s roof, per the BBC.
“In my years with them, they lent me out to scores of wealthy, powerful people,” she said, adding, “I was habitually used and humiliated – and in some instances, choked, beaten and bloodied.”
“I believed that I might die a sex slave,” Giuffre wrote.
She also claimed she’d be in “so much pain that I prayed I would black out” after allegedly being subjected to sadomasochistic sex by Epstein, per the BBC.
Giuffre, who said in the book that she was 16 years old when Ghislaine Maxwell first approached her while she was working at Donald Trump’s Mar-a-Lago resort in Palm Beach, Fla., managed to escape the British socialite and Epstein’s control at 19, PEOPLE previously reported.
Giuffre went on to become one of the most prominent voices in holding them accountable and advocating for survivors of sexual abuse.
Maxwell was convicted in 2021 of sex trafficking and other charges for recruiting and grooming underage girls for Epstein and is currently serving a 20-year prison sentence in Florida. Meanwhile, Epstein died by suicide in federal custody in 2019 while awaiting trial on sex trafficking charges.

In her memoir, Giuffre also went into detail about her alleged sexual encounters with Prince Andrew, 65.
She said the first time they allegedly had sex, it lasted “less than a half hour,” while their third alleged sexual encounter took place during an “orgy” with Epstein and eight other girls under the age of 18.

In the memoir, Giuffre recalled meeting Prince Andrew on March 10, 2001, in Maxwell’s London home. She posed for a picture with him that was taken with her Kodak FunSaver, which later became a world-famous image.
After going out to dinner and then dancing at London hotspot Tramp, Maxwell allegedly told her, “When we get home, you are to do for him what you do for Jeffrey,” she wrote.
“Back at the house, Maxwell and Epstein said goodnight and headed upstairs, signaling it was time that I take care of the prince. In the years since, I’ve thought a lot about how he behaved. He was friendly enough, but still entitled – as if he believed having sex with me was his birthright,” Giuffre claimed.
Giuffre was 17 when she first met Andrew, and he was 41.

Earlier that day, shortly after Andrew arrived, Maxwell had him play “a game” she liked guests to take part in, Giuffre claimed: guessing the then-teenager’s age.
Andrew “guessed correctly,” she alleged, before he made small talk by commenting on her age.
“My daughters [Eugenie and Beatrice] are just a little younger than you,” the royal allegedly said.
In 2022, Giuffre and Prince Andrew reached an out-of-court settlement for an undisclosed amount in her sexual assault lawsuit against the royal.
“Prince Andrew intends to make a substantial donation to Ms. Giuffre’s charity in support of victims’ rights,” a court document filed at the time stated. “Prince Andrew has never intended to malign Ms. Giuffre’s character, and he accepts that she has suffered both as an established victim of abuse and as a result of unfair public attacks.”
The latest book excerpt comes after it was revealed that authorities were “actively” looking into allegations that Andrew had previously attempted to uncover information about Giuffre, PEOPLE previously reported.
Leaked email correspondence suggested that Andrew had asked his police protection officer, a taxpayer-funded position, to uncover personal information about Giuffre over a decade ago and provided the officer with her social security number and date of birth in order to do so, according to the BBC, The Telegraph and The Guardian.
The leaked messages were sent just before a photo of Andrew and an underage Giuffre surfaced in 2011, per The Guardian. The outlet reported there is no suggestion that the officer complied with the royal’s request.

The release comes days after Prince Andrew announced in a statement shared by Buckingham Palace on Friday, Oct. 17, that he would no longer be using his title or honors as it distracts from the work of King Charles and the royal family.
His statement included, without mentioning names, “As I have said previously, I vigorously deny the accusations against me.”
