Steve McBee Sr. is leaning on his community.
After he was sentenced to 24 months in prison and ordered to pay $4 million in restitution in a multi-million dollar crop insurance fraud case, the McBee Dynasty: Real American Cowboys star, 52, broke his silence on the ordeal on his Instagram Stories on Oct. 17.
Sharing a screenshot of a supportive text from a friend, McBee wrote, “The number of messages I have received touches my heart beyond measure that words could express.”
“But the truth of the matter is, I’m the one who’s lucky … lucky to have been able to spend time with so many high character young people and they were the ones that made me a better human not the other way around,” he continued.
Added McBee: “I count my blessings every day for my family and the support they give me and for my extended family that continues to grow each and every day. This too shall pass.”

McBee pled guilty to one count of federal crop insurance fraud in November 2024, resulting in the reality star receiving $3,158,923 in unauthorized benefits.
According to Department of Justice (DOJ) press release at the time, the McBee Farming Operations owners admitted to making a false report to Rain and Hail, a company reinsured by the Federal Crop Insurance Corporation, and confessed to sending “fraudulent documents to Rain and Hail that underreported his total 2018 corn crop by approximately 674,812 bushels and underreported his total 2018 soybean crop by approximately 155,833 bushels.”
Along with posting on his Instagram Stories, McBee also shared a joint Instagram post with the McBee Farm & Cattle Co business account on Oct. 17, quoting a speech from Theodore Roosevelt and the Alice In Chains song “Rooster.”
In the caption, he said, “Cowards die many times before their deaths; the valiant never taste of death but once. William Shakespeare.”
