NEED TO KNOW

  • A proposed contract for Blake Lively’s role in It Ends With Us was unsealed on Thursday, Oct. 9
  • The actress was offered as much as $250,000 in incentives for potential major award show wins and box office milestones
  • The proposed contract would have prevented Lively from taking her case against Baldoni to court, instead requiring that she bring the concerns before a private arbitrator in Los Angeles

A proposed contract for Blake Lively’s performance as Lily Bloom in the film adaptation of It Ends With Us was unsealed on Thursday, Oct. 9, as part of her ongoing legal battle against Justin Baldoni.

PEOPLE obtained a draft of a contract filed in the Southern District of New York for Lively, 38, in which several bonuses were outlined for the Gossip Girl alum should she have won a major award for her performance in the 2024 film based on Colleen Hoover’s bestselling novel.

In the proposed contract, Lively would have been paid $100,000 for an Academy Award nomination and $200,000 for a win, to be capped at $200,000 total. Lively would have been paid $75,000 for Golden Globe nomination and $100,000 for a win, and $50,000 for a SAG Award nomination and $75,000 for a win.

The draft also outlined that she would be compensated $250,000 each time the movie hit major box office milestones, from three to five times the production cost. As for on-set amenities, Lively was offered  $1,500 in assistant fees, a personal driver, exclusive use of a pop-out trailer with customary amenities and a $1,000-per-week stipend for training and meals during filming around the greater New York City and New Jersey area.

Lively, who shares daughters James, 10, Inez, 9, and Betty, 6, and son Olin, 2, with husband Ryan Reynolds, was also offered the option to have her two nannies, her assistant, and security team flown by private jet for filming days in Las Vegas.

In addition to the financial details, the documents also included an addendum that would prohibit Lively and the film’s producers from pursuing matters related to the film in open court. Instead, the proposed contract stipulated that Lively and the producers would be required to resolve any issues through confidential arbitration in Los Angeles.

Ultimately, Lively did not sign the contract.

The newly released documents come amid the ongoing legal battle between Lively and Baldoni. Lively filed a lawsuit against Baldoni, her It Ends with Us costar and director, as well as his Wayfarer Studios colleagues, who produced the film, his publicist and crisis PR team. The suit was filed in December 2024.

Lively alleged that she experienced sexual harassment at the hands of Baldoni, 41, and was the victim of a retaliatory online smear campaign after she spoke up about it. Baldoni continues to deny Lively’s allegations.

PEOPLE has reached out to representatives for Lively and Baldoni for comment. The trial is currently scheduled to begin in March 2026.
