She Allegedly Forced Boys into Sexual Encounters Involving Scream Mask — and Now She Faces Nearly 50 Charges By Sean Neumann

A former Indiana high school math teacher accused of having group sex with a handful of underage students while making them wear masks from the Scream movies is facing a wave of new charges tied to her alleged sexual abuse, according to a new report.

Local WTHR reported last week that Brittany Fortinberry had additional charges filed against her this month as the investigation into her alleged abuse continues, including charges for sexual misconduct with a minor, dissemination of material harmful to minors and contributing to the delinquency of a minor.

Citing court documents, the outlet reported that the former Martinsville, Ind., teacher now faces 47 total charges in connection with her alleged abuse.

PEOPLE previously reported that Fortinberry, 31, allegedly arranged group sex with a number of her students – some as young as 13 years old – and forced them to wear a Ghostface mask from the Scream franchise while forcing the boys to take turns having sex with her, according to local police. 

Five victims came forward to accuse Fortinberry of the sexual abuse in March, PEOPLE reported. Her husband, Nicholas Fortinberry, filed for divorce a month earlier and is seeking custody of their 4-year-old child.

The former high school math teacher was initially charged with ten counts of child molestation, eight counts of dissemination of matter harmful to a minor, five counts of contributing to the delinquency of a minor and one count of sexual misconduct with a minor, according to online court records reviewed by PEOPLE.

WTHR reported that Morgan County prosecutors filed the additional charges on Thursday, Sept. 25.

In the new court filings, according to WTHR, a number of Fortinberry’s alleged victims said the former teacher would invite them over to her house and give them drugs before coming on to the boys sexually. In some cases, Fortinberry allegedly either paid students directly or spent hundreds of dollars on gifts for them.

The outlet reported that in one case, Fortinberry threatened to kill herself if the boys she allegedly abused reported her.

In a separate case, WTHR reported that Fortinberry is also accused of sending sexually graphic photos of herself to a number of 17 and 18-year-old high school students who were working in her classroom as teacher aids.
