A Brazilian man was arrested after allegedly marrying his stepdaughter and forcing her to engage in sexual acts with himself and other men over the course of more than 20 years.
The Paraná Civil Police confirmed the arrest via a press release on Wednesday, Sept. 17, noting that the 51-year-old suspect was apprehended in Araucária, in the Metropolitan Region of Curitiba. Authorities opted out of naming him or his victim in their report.
PCPR delegate Eduardo Kruger said that the victim “managed to escape” to report the crime on Tuesday, Sept. 16. Per the report, she slipped away and made it to the police station after telling the suspect that she was going to a medical appointment.
She alleged that the man began abusing her when she was 7, and that they married after she got pregnant at the age of 16. The victim accused her stepfather of inflicting “physical and psychological abuse” and forcing her to have sex with him and other men while on camera.
He was also accused of “restrictions on freedom, monitoring by cameras installed in the residence and control over the victim’s cell phone and movements.”
She reportedly gave birth to multiple children while being held captive by the man.
