Comedian Jon Reep was arrested this week and charged with ten counts of sexual exploitation of a minor.
The Friday, Sept. 5 arrest came after the winner of Last Comic Standing season 5 was indicted by a Catawba County, N.C. grand jury on Sept. 2, on one count of second-degree sexual exploitation of a minor and nine counts of third-degree sexual exploitation of a minor, according to the Hickory Police Department.
The case came to light after officers received an Internet Crimes Against Children cyber tip from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children on April 15 that “concerned child sexual abuse material,” the department said in a press release.
“During the initial investigation, it was discovered that the account associated with this cyber tip belonged to Jonathan David Reep, 53, of Hickory,” the department wrote in the press release.

“Electronic devices were seized during the execution of the search warrant and digital forensic analysis of these devices and other online communications were completed.”
Reep was scheduled to appear at the Paramount Theater on Friday in Goldsboro, N.C. According to WSOC-TV, the show was rescheduled.
Reep appeared in numerous comedy specials including Netflix’s “Brad Paisley’s Comedy Rodeo” and Amazon Prime’s “Ginger Beard Man,” per his website.
