A Michigan man was arrested after authorities allege he repeatedly sexually assaulted a woman and held her captive until she escaped.

William Paul Thompson, 22, of Mount Pleasant, was arraigned on multiple felony charges, including criminal sexual conduct and unlawful imprisonment, on Tuesday, Sept. 2, according to a press release shared by Michigan State Police.

The alleged victim, a 21-year-old woman, claimed to police that she was held captive for a week and repeatedly sexually assaulted by Thompson, who was “homeless” and living in a tent, per the release. The woman further alleged that Thompson used a weapon to threaten her.
