Convicted Felon Banned from Owning Gun Faces Murder Charge After Allegedly Impaling Man With Arrow By Chris Spargo

A California man with a lengthy list of felony convictions is now facing a murder charge.

Glen Stevenson, 63, is accused of killing 46-year-old Salvador Rabago during an altercation between the two men.

Officers with the Redding Police Department arrived at the scene of the crime shortly after 5:30 p.m. on Sept. 1 after receiving multiple reports of a shooting in the area from witnesses, according to a news release.

Stevenson, who was on probation and is not legally allowed to own a firearm, is accused of killing his victim after impaling him with an arrow, according to the RPD.

Responding officers said Rabago had “a significant injury to his chest area” when they arrived on the scene, and was pronounced dead shortly after being transported to a local hospital.

After being taken to the precinct to speak with detectives, Stevenson was booked into the Shasta County Jail on a murder charge, where he is being held without bail.

Court records show that a majority of Stevenson’s arrests are related to the unlawful possession of a firearm or narcotics.

His convictions in the county date back almost 40 years, starting with a burglary in 1986.
