A Pennsylvania man has been charged with sexually assaulting a 12-year-old girl after allegedly promising to help her find her way out of a walking trail where she got lost.
Brian Ball, 40, was charged Wednesday in connection with the July 28 assault, according to a news release from the Allegheny County Police Department. Police said he allegedly assaulted the young girl multiple times while walking together along the trail after promising to help her find her way out.
Ball faces charges of indecent assault, aggravated indecent assault, corruption of minors, indecent exposure and unlawful contact with a minor, police said.
Officers with the Allegheny County Police Department responded to a call at the trail shortly after 10 p.m. and soon identified Ball via interviews and trail surveillance video, according to the department.

Police alleged the 40-year-old man offered to help the 12-year-old and another young girl who said they were lost on the walking trail along the Allegheny River.
Soon after, Ball allegedly offered the girls marijuana and then sexually assaulted the 12-year-old girl multiple times, according to police. Police said Ball is being held in the Allegheny County Jail as of Wednesday morning.
