NEED TO KNOW

  • Kristin Brock, 41, and James Brock, 45, were found slain in their home in February
  • Kristin’s daughter Sarah Grace Patrick was arrested earlier this month in connection with the murders
  • In the months before the arrest, Patrick had reportedly contacted influencers on TikTok for attention on the case

A Georgia teen who discovered the slain bodies of her parents allegedly reached out to TikTok bloggers requesting attention on the murders — before she herself was arrested in connection to the killings.

Sarah Grace Patrick, 17, called 911 after her younger sibling found the bodies of her mother and stepfather, Kristin Brock, 41, and James Brock, 45, on Feb. 20 in their Carrollton, Ga. home, investigators said at the time.

Months later, on July 8, the Carroll County Sheriff’s Office announced they arrested Patrick in connection with the killings.

When Patrick’s arrest was made public, a true crime blogger felt the shock of her life when a “Sarah Grace” messaged her on TikTok, requesting she cover the Brocks’ killings.

Janice, from South Carolina, runs the true crime blog “Allegedly Reportedly” on TikTok, where she has amassed more than 100,000 followers. (She requested her last name not be published, citing security concerns).

In early June, she tells PEOPLE, a TikTok user named “Sarah Grace” sent her a simple message: “Search up Brock case.”

“They’re my parents and out of no where a random Thursday night in Feb someone came in my house with me and my 5 year old sister and shot my parents brutally leaving them for me and my little sister to wake up to,” reads the message from “Sarah Grace,” according to screenshots Janice shared with PEOPLE.

Janice expressed her condolences and responded that she would look into it.

The account, which has not been confirmed to belong to Patrick, has since been taken down.

The following day, Janice claimed that she received another message that, in hindsight, she feels was odd, where “Sarah Grace” claimed news coverage of the crime would be “a really big hit.”

Once Janice started covering the case on her Allegedly Reportedly blog on TikTok, per screenshots of messages shared with PEOPLE, “Sarah Grace” would reply to comments on the post that now seem fishy.

Per the screenshots, in response to one comment that speculated the Brocks knew their alleged killer, “Sarah Grace” responded: “most definitely was since they knew the house.”

In another comment, “Sarah Grace” indicated that the couple had been shot.

Janice further claims the teen emailed her, sharing details of the crime scene she claimed she had come upon.

“It felt like she was digitally reliving the crime,” Janice tells PEOPLE.

Another TikToker @shoelover99, who has more than 12 million fans following her journey of grieving her murdered son, also alleged the teenager reached out to her.

In a video posted following Patrick’s arrest, she shared a screenshot of a message from a user, also with the name “Sarah Grace,” from April 16: “Momma tot I need a momma bad [right now] im going through it.”

PEOPLE was unable to verify whether the “Sarah Grace” that messaged Janice and @shoelover99 is actually the suspect, Sarah Grace Patrick. Neither the Carroll County Sheriff’s Office nor TikTok immediately responded to PEOPLE’s requests for comments on these claims.

Patrick turned herself in and has been charged with two counts of murder and two counts of aggravated assault, the sheriff’s office said on July 8.

Patrick’s lawyers could not immediately be reached for comment.
