A Florida woman has been accused by authorities of murder after they say she allegedly killed a man with a metal hammer and left a white sheet of paper on his chest that read “PEDO Touches Children” in green highlighter.
The Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office identified 21-year-old Journee McGrew as a suspect in the murder of 41-year-old Waduta Woodley after reviewing evidence and interviewing several witnesses, the sheriff’s office said in a statement.
On July 2, officers arrived at an apartment complex in Jacksonville where they found Woodley lying in a pool of blood behind a stairwell with several blunt force injuries to his head and face, according to an arrest report obtained by PEOPLE.
An autopsy later determined he died “as a result of multiple chop injuries,” per the report.
Officers witnessed blood splattered on the walls and on the ground near the stairwell where Woodley was found, per the report. When Jacksonville Fire and Rescue responded, they pronounced Woodley dead at the scene.
McGrew was found inside a nearby apartment, according to the report.
After authorities obtained a search warrant, they found bloody footprints leading from the doorway to the bathroom where they found the metal hammer covered in blood, per the report.
Officers also found a pair of pink Croc slippers, a black tank top and a pair of purple sweatpants all covered in blood. Per the arrest report, officers then found a pink notebook with loose paper and a green highlighter.
