Love Island Alum Cashel Barnett Accused of Sexually Assaulting His Ex in the Presence of a Child in 2024

Cashel Blew Barnett has been charged with three additional felonies after being charged in May for aggravated assault and domestic violence in the presence of a child.

The Love Island USA alum, 31, was charged on Wednesday, June 25, with first-degree aggravated sexual assault, third-degree aggravated assault, and third-degree domestic violence in the presence of a child, ABC 4, KJZZ14 and KSL report. He now faces five felony counts in Utah.

The recent charges are in relation to an incident that allegedly occurred between November and December 2024.

“Mr. Barnett is presumed innocent, strongly denies any wrongdoing, and looks forward to his day in court,” Barnett’s attorney Andrew K. Deesing said in a statement to PEOPLE. “We’re in the very early stages of this, so we don’t have any further comment at this time.”

In late May, Barnett was charged for an alleged incident that happened in April with the mother of his child. He was charged with two felonies, aggravated assault and domestic violence and two misdemeanor charges of assault.

The woman accused Barnett of forcefully pressing her against the couch, causing her to lose consciousness from not being able to breathe. Once she regained consciousness, Barnett sat her up, slapped her across the face and raped her, the Salt Lake City Police Department said, per KJZZ14. She alleged that Barnett stopped assaulting her once she grabbed the young child who was crying in the room.

Following the alleged April incident, she alleged in the police report that she experienced “difficulty breathing, a raspy voice, coughing, trouble swallowing, neck pain, nausea, vomiting, agitation, amnesia, memory loss, visual changes,” and a “headache.”
