- Kid Cudi alleges Diddy broke into his house in 2011
- He was dating Diddy’s on-again, off-again ex-girlfriend, Cassie Ventura, at the time
- Diddy reportedly tried to talk to Kid Cudi several times in an attempt to “get to the bottom” of the rapper’s relationship with Ventura, Cudi told the court
Kid Cudi says he once tried to confront Sean “Diddy” Combs — and during the confrontation, the rapper accused Combs of locking his dog inside a bathroom.
The Grammy-winning artist, whose legal name is Scott Mescudi, took the stand on Thursday, May 22, in Combs’ high-profile federal trial in Manhattan.
Mescudi recalled a break-in at his home in December 2011, when he was in a brief relationship with Combs’ on-again, off-again ex-girlfriend, Casandra “Cassie” Ventura.
Ventura called Mescudi early in the morning on the day of the break-in, and the two got on a call with an employee of Combs’, Mescudi testified.
The employee seemed “very scared” and told them Combs and an associate were inside Mescudi’s house, Mescudi testified.
When Mescudi contacted Combs, the Bad Boy Records founder allegedly said, “I just want to talk to you,” later adding he was at Mescudi’s home “waiting for you.”
Combs was not there when Mescudi arrived at the home, but he noticed multiple things out of place: gift boxes opened, his security camera turned away, and his dog locked inside the bathroom, Mescudi testified.
“I was looking for [Combs],” Mescudi said. “I wanted to confront him, I wanted to fight him, you know?”
He chose not to, however, and opted to call police.
Later, when Mescudi was spending Christmas with Ventura’s family, Combs allegedly texted him several times to ask about his relationship with Ventura, he testified.
Combs wanted to “get to the bottom of it” and “figure out what’s going on,” Mescudi said.
“But at that point, post-break-in, I didn’t want to talk to him,” Mescudi testified. “I told him, ‘You broke into my house. You messed with my dog. I don’t want to talk to you.'”

Earlier this week, the jury heard testimony from witnesses alleging he abused Ventura and carried a trove of drugs on him, including pills with former president Barack Obama’s face on them. Law enforcement officials revealed the firearm components, baby oil and pink ketamine they found in his possession during their investigation.
Combs is on trial on charges of racketeering, sex trafficking and transportation to engage in prostitution. He has pleaded not guilty to all charges.
