  • His lawyer told PEOPLE there was “no truth” to the charges and claims his client was “a victim of a burglary and committed no crimes”

Rapper Rod Wave is facing 14 charges in connection with a burglary at his Georgia home.

The 26-year-old rapper, whose real name is Rodarius Green, voluntarily surrendered himself to the Fulton County Sheriff’s Office in Georgia on Tuesday, May 20, and was released on bond. He faced warrants from a Monday, April 21, police report in Milton, Ga., according to the Associated Press.

His charges include aggravated assault, conspiracy to commit a felony, pointing or aiming gun or pistol, simple assault, two counts of reckless conduct, two counts of criminal damage to property, two counts of willful obstruction of law enforcement officers, two counts of tampering with evidence and two counts of possession of firearm or knife during commission of or attempt to commit certain felonies.

Officers reportedly responded to a 911 report of “a possible domestic disturbance” at Green’s Milton home when a neighbor saw a woman crying, and heard yelling and screaming.

In the initial police report, officers found a gold Mercedes SUV had multiple bullet holes in it, and a black Rolls-Royce vehicle had a single bullet hole, the report said, per the Associated Press.

His girlfriend told the authorities that she returned to the home, which appeared to have been burglarized. Officers allegedly discovered a black handgun, a broken window and a hammer in a bush next to the house’s swimming pool. “In the basement, we found a large safe that had been dragged across the floor, opened, and emptied,” an officer wrote in the report, per the Associated Press.

Authorities did not list any suspects who might have broken in, emptied the safe, or shot the vehicles in the initial report. However, officers later obtained arrest warrants for Green.

Rod Wave performs onstage during "The Beautiful Mind Tour" with Rod Wave at Target Center on November 11, 2022 in Minneapolis, Minnesota.

“There is no truth to these charges,” the rapper’s lawyer, Drew Findling, said in a statement obtained by PEOPLE.

“Rod Green was a victim of a burglary and committed no crimes,” Findling continued. “How he was even charged as a result of this situation is incomprehensible. This will absolutely be resolved favorably to Mr. Green.”
