In Italy, for a 2 weeks road trip, the serrated Chap was my only knife.
The Sal Glesser’s Chaparral has been studied many times in this blog but lately the serrated version has really raking an important part in my rotation.
Why this knife can be a great travelling companion ?
Its blade length first. Less than 3 inches (71mm to be exact), it is easily accepted as a pocket knife even if the serration add in terms of cutting power some 25% in edge length.
It is flat. Really flat and thin. It can be carried in the watchpocket.
The mechanism is sturdy with an hidden pin which provides a zero vertical play experience.
The grey FRN is friendly and gives an excellent grip even with wet hands.

I like Nemo’s reviews.  I am surprised that he crossed Euro borders with a knife as aggressive looking as the Chap. I am paranoid even carrying a SAK across the pond.
