Alaskan Bush People Star Rain Brown and Husband Arrested for Burglary

Alaskan Bush People star Rain Brown and her husband Josiah Lorton have been arrested for alleged burglary, according to booking records obtained by PEOPLE.

Brown, whose full legal name is Merry Christmas Kathryn Raindrop Brown, and Lorton were both arrested and charged with first-degree burglary and first-degree malicious mischief in Okanogan, Wash., on Friday, April 11. Brown was also charged with second-degree criminal trespass.

They were released from Okanogan County Jail on their own recognizance on Monday, April 14. Brown, 22, and Lorton, 23, were not required to post bail and are expected to appear at a later scheduled court date, according to In Touch, which was the first to report the news.

The details of the alleged incident that caused their arrest have not been revealed.

A representative for the Okanogan County Sheriff’s Office did not immediately respond to PEOPLE’s request for more information on Wednesday, April 16.

Brown is best known for appearing on the Discovery Channel reality series, Alaskan Bush People, with her family. The series premiered in 2014, when she was 11 years old.

Alaskan Bush People followed the Brown family as they lived in the wilderness, and went months without seeing other people. The show was canceled in 2022 after 14 seasons.

Brown revealed in a December 2023 Instagram post that she and Lorton were dating. Shortly after announcing their relationship, she penned a tribute to Lorton, sharing that they met at work, where they “slowly fell madly in love with each other” when she was a waitress and he was the head chef.

“Forever grateful for this guy, 🥰 my loves my baybay my angel my hero my protector my healer my home my forever, few are lucky enough to find their someone and very few are blessed enough to have found that someone so early in life and especially at such a random place,” she wrote in the January 2024 Instagram post. “Josiah has showed me what real pure genuine love is, and continues to show me every day what a beautiful thing this life can be.”

In January 2025, Brown announced via Instagram that they were married.

“Baby, this is our world now 😘😎 yes. I’m married, y’all,” she captioned the photo of her and Lorton posing together. 

Since announcing their marriage, Brown has posted a few more photos and videos of her and her husband. More recently, in early March, she added one of her “favorite pictures” of her and Lorton. 

“This was actually from a fan picture which just goes to show you never know when some of your favorite moments will be, stay adventurous, my rainbows 🌈 and always remember God loves you,” she captioned the photo.
