Three men have been indicted by federal authorities in connection with the December 2024 burglary at the home of Cincinnati Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow.

Authorities charged Jordan Francisco Quiroga Sanchez, 22; Bastian Alejandro Orellana Morales, 23; and Sergio Andres Ortega Cabello, 38, with transporting stolen goods interstate and falsifying records, the U.S. Attorney’s Office, Southern District of Ohio said in a statement this week.

The trio, who are all from Chile, “seem to be the alleged tip of the iceberg of South American Theft Groups committing crimes throughout our district and elsewhere,” U.S. Attorney Kenneth L. Parker said.

The trio, along with a fourth suspect, Alexander Chavez, also face pending state charges.

The investigation began on Dec. 9, when an associate of Burrow’s reported an apparent burglary after he arrived at the residence and “discovered rooms were unusually messy and a primary bedroom window on the back side of the home had been broken,” according to a charging document cited by the Attorney’s Office.

Burrow was in the Dallas, Texas, area for an NFL game at the time.

Investigators said they found trail camera footage of a person carrying luggage through the wooded area near the residence before the suspects were tracked across several states, according to the statement.

They were eventually detained at a hotel in Fairborn, Ohio, where Ohio high patrol stopped them for a traffic violation.

Investigators also discovered that Cabello had allegedly deleted phone photos of the stolen goods and Burrow’s home, leading to the charge of falsifying records in a federal investigation, the statement said.

Police also found other photos of the suspects posing with the stolen goods and wearing some of the jewelry, per the statement.

In  a post on X, FBI Cincinnati shared a photo of the suspects on a bed, with their thumbs up and hands in victory gesture, wearing jewelry allegedly belonging to Burrow — who is known for his signature icy chains and flashy fashion sense.

“South American Theft Groups have been a major concern in the Cincinnati area,” FBI Cincinnati Special Agent in Charge Elena Iatarola said in the statement. “We appreciate the partnerships of all the agencies involved in the Southwest Ohio South American Theft Group Task Force for their hard work on this investigation.”

It wasn’t immediately clear if the suspects have entered pleas or retained attorneys to speak on their behalf.
