An Uber Eats driver was arrested in Polk County, Fla., after authorities allege she ate food from an order and then stole holiday decorations from a customer’s yard. Then, say police, she spat in the customer’s face after being confronted.
A Polk County Sheriff’s Office arrest report obtained by PEOPLE alleges the driver, Alexsandra Del Valle Acosta Aguilar, was spotted by the customer “removing food from the bag that she ordered” while outside the customer’s home while making a delivery there shortly before midnight on Sept. 12.
The customer told police she then went outside her Davenport, Fla., home and noticed Aguilar holding her “Happy Fall Y’all” yard sign, according to the arrest affidavit. Police say the customer also noticed other holiday decorations, including a column of pumpkins, had been moved and were now sitting near Aguilar’s vehicle.
When the customer approached Aguilar and wrestled the sign out of her hands, the Uber Eats driver then allegedly spat in the woman’s face after they got into an argument. Aguilar then shoved the stolen items into the car, and drove off, according to the arrest affidavit.

The alleged victim claimed the four stolen decorative pumpkins were worth about $75 each, according to police, who claimed Aguilar stole about $330 worth of decorations in total from the Davenport home.
Aguilar is facing charges of burglary with assault and grand theft from a home, according to police, who say she admitted she delivered an order to the address where the alleged incident occurred. Police said Aguilar was arrested “based upon the statement provided by the victim, statement made by the suspect, and records from Uber Eats.”
PEOPLE reached out to Uber Eats for comment, but did not immediately hear back.
